?I am very encouraged of the support of President Bush for my campaign. Obviously, you can tell there is growing momentum for this effort in New Hampshire and across the country,? the former Massachusetts governor told reporters here.

Bush, who?s known Romney for years, told the Houston Chronicle, ?I think Romney is the best choice for us,? calling him ?the most electable.?

I thanked him for his support, his leadership, his heroic life and his friendship,? Romney said. ?I must admit, this is much more important to me personally than even politically.?

Romney said he was taken by surprise by Bush?s support.

?I had no idea that was coming,? he added as he walked away, heading to knock on doors of Berlin homes.
