Boston Wine Expo 2013 and Free Tickets! | BeantownEats {We Eat It ...

Written by Lin | December 10, 2012 |

I know it?s only December, but the folks over at the Boston Wine Expo are already excited for the 2013 event. So excited, in fact, that they have generously given us a pair of tickets to give away for what has become one of the staple events in Boston.

Here?s some insight as to some reasons why they are so excited for this year?s event (from their press packet):

  • The 2013 Boston Wine Expo will benefit Tufts Medical Center?s Summer Camp Scholarship Program and other local charities. In all, over $1,300,000 has been donated to charity courtesy of the event?s founders ? the Boston Guild of Oenophilips, Inc.
  • Over 6,000 upscale consumers will attend over a two-day period.
  • Over 2,000 industry trade will attend, who enjoy two dedicated hours before the general public enters the event.
  • Over 200 wineries representing 15 countries showcased in four regions around the world will exhibit their wines and products.
  • In addition, over 70 food and lifestyle exhibits are expected for 2013, along with over 25 restaurants.

Along with tasting all the wine you could possibly imagine, information seminars are also available. Here are some that we have our eye one (list as of 9/19/2012):

  • ?Chateauneuf-du-Pape? with Alain Junguenet (Owner, Wines of France)
  • Gordon and MacPhail ?Scotch Seminar? with Matt Chician (Portfolio Manaber, Fine Wines & Spirits / Martignetti Companies)
  • ?Wines of South Africa? with Cape Classics
  • Wasik?s Cheese Shop ?Cheese & Wine Seminar? with Brad and Brian Wasik (Owners, Wasik?s Cheese Shop in Wellesley, MA)
  • ?Bourbon Seminar? with Harlan Wheatley (Master Distiller, Buffalo Trace Distillery)
  • ?How to Buy Wine Wine Retail? with TJ Douglas (Urban Grape)

As you can see, the Boston Wine Expo is more than just wine; it?s a great chance to try new things, grow your palette, and learn a thing or two about wine and spirits. You can read about our experience at last year?s Wine Expo here. And if you are first-timer, be sure to check out Meghan?s great advice on how to best navigate the weekend here.

OK, back to the tickets. We are giving away a pair of tickets to the Grand Tasting on Sunday, February 17th, 2013 from 1pm-5pm. The event is held at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
